The First Haunting, a Sealed Rooks & St. Felix Mystery Box - Curated Haunted Antique, Oddity, and Collector Keepsakes
Mystery Box · Novice Tier
Everyone who keeps spirits has a first. This is meant to be yours.
There is an old idea, held in more cultures than not, that a thing kept long enough and loved well enough begins to keep something back. An object that has been carried daily, set down in the same place each night, held in moments a person did not think anyone would remember. Attention leaves a residue. Time does the rest. What we send you in this box is a thing that crossed that line a long while ago, quietly, without anyone deciding it should.
The spirit in it is a gentle one. We grade it at the lowest end of our scale, the company we would put in the hands of someone who has never done this before and is not entirely sure they believe in it yet. It will not announce itself. It will not frighten you in the night or move your keys or stand at the foot of the bed. What it does is subtler and, in our experience, harder to give up once you have felt it: it keeps you company. A presence fond of being near, content to be kept, asking only that it not be forgotten.
You will not know its name, nor where it has been, nor what it has seen, until you open the box. We seal each one ourselves, and inside you will find the whole of its story set down by hand, the way these things were always meant to be passed along, one keeper to the next.
A first door is meant to be walked through. This one opens easily.
Fair warning. They tend not to let go.
Three tiers, three depths of the collection:
No. I · The First Haunting · $200
Each tier is drawn from a finer shelf than the last. The spirit stays gentle. The object grows rarer.
Every antique is real, old, and chosen with care. What comes home with you stays a mystery until you open it. After that, it is yours to keep.
Recent Testimonials:
"I recently purchased an antique from Rooks & St. Felix and I am still blown away. So many books and films describe the feeling of discovering a hidden shop filled with treasures, a place where every object has a history and every purchase feels meaningful. We assume those scenes are romanticized. Opening my package felt exactly like that. From the beautiful wrapping to the handwritten calligraphy and wax-sealed notes, every detail was handled with extraordinary care. It felt less like receiving an online order and more like being entrusted with an object and its story. The antique was wonderful, but what I will remember most is how it arrived. This is how buying a special object should feel. Thoughtful, intentional, and just a little magical."
